20 Things Twenty-Somethings Should Do Alone at Least Once
In your twenties, you definitely don’t have all the right answers. Most of the time, you barely have one. This is the time where life is truly being figured out, and you try to get everything together.
BUT! There are still many things you should be doing soon if you don’t do them already.
Here are 20 things twenty-somethings should do alone at least once.
1. Make your own food. Someone else won’t do it for you forever!
2. Make phone calls and set doctor and dentist appointments. Twenty-somethings aren’t kids anymore. Do your own deeds!
3. Go grocery shopping and start buying bulk items. Even if you don’t make your own food, you still have to eat. All restaurants aren’t always going to be open.
4. Travel abroad! It’ll be one of the greatest things you’ll ever do in your lifetime.
5. No call/no show. You have to do this AT LEAST once. Trust me, it’ll be okay. The world will still turn.
6. Go to the gym.
7. Try a new hobby!
8. Buy a piece of furniture. Check out Wayfair. Or buy a car! People need cars.
9. Go for a run or jog. You may not be a runner, but it’s definitely something you’d be proud of even if you did it one time for 10 minutes.
10. Read a book. There’s a book or two for anybody and everybody.
11. Adopt a pet. If you ever plan on having some kids, a pet might be a good way to test your parenting skills … or you could get a plant. Yeah, sure.
12. Write a letter to someone you love and send it.
13. Write a letter to someone who hurt you and don’t send it.
14. Start a good habit, like a weekly house/apartment cleaning, or drinking water regularly.
15. Get drunk in your apartment. You’ll be surprised by what you do or say. If not, add friends into the mix.
16. Make amends with people. Life’s too short, you know. Don’t be stubborn!
17. Make an important list, like a bucket list. Or grocery list (whatever floats your boat).
18. Go on a road trip and use Roadtrippers. You might want to take someone with you for this one, though.
19. Go out to eat. It might be weird or out of your comfort zone, but you’ll be more comfortable with yourself.
20. Let loose a little! Twenty-somethings are supposed to go wild sometimes. It’s in our nature! Maybe you’ve been against an activity but never knew exactly why. Maybe you’ve been scared to do some karaoke or open mic. Do it! This is the time for adventures and enjoyment. You’ll be fine.
